Health Clinic

The QueensCare Bresee Clinic is a partnership between our organization and the QueensCare Health and Faith Partnership. The clinic exists to address gaps and inequities in our healthcare system while providing a remedy for low-income individuals and families with few alternatives for dependable care.  Our doors are open to anyone, with or without health insurance.  As such, we are a solution for parents who would otherwise wait long hours for their children to receive medical attention as well as for adults with chronic illnesses who lack a provider.  The QueensCare Bresee clinic’s bilingual staff includes two doctors, a certified nurse practitioner and a staff of medical assistants who provide the utmost, compassionate care through the following services:

  • Well baby & well child check-ups
  • Physical exams
  • Sick visits
  • Immunizations
  • Flu shots
  • Tuberculosis screening (TB skin test)
  • Vision & Hearing tests
  • Referrals for specialized care
  • Laboratory tests

Bilingual Certified Application Assistants are available to help patients complete insurance applications.  If a patient already has insurance, the assistants can facilitate transfers to the QueensCare Bresee clinic upon request.

Health Education and Screenings

In the context of a full-service community center, Bresee is able to provide clinic patients and anxious community members with emotional support and access to education, referrals and resources that lead to healthier lifestyles.  Bresee community health advocates collaborate with the QueensCare Health and Faith Partnership to offer health education forums and information materials, as well as screenings for high blood pressure, tuberculosis, anemia and unhealthy cholesterol and sugar levels.  Patients also have access to our CyberCafé where they may learn more about their diagnoses and seek additional online resources and support.
