Bresee
Health Services provides access to preventive and basic health
services. The program also helps community members to become
knowledgeable about their own health and promotes healthy
lifestyles. The various services offered receive programmatic
and financial support from the Queenscare Health & Faith
Partnership (QHFP). Nearly 4,000 contacts are logged each
year.
Preventive
Care
Health screenings are each month. These include screenings
for high blood pressure, tuberculosis, high or low blood sugar,
anemia and high cholesterol. Flu shots are offered each year.
Health
Education
Bresee Health Services also offers health resources, educational
forums and informational materials. Programs are available
on topics such as stress management, heart disease, diabetes,
nutrition, self esteem and childrens health. Parenting
classes and self-development workshops are also offered throughout
the year.

Advocacy & Support
The Bresee Health Services program advocates for the wellness
of community members and works to get clients the health care
they need. Staff members provide health assessments and referrals,
assistance with access to care, & transportation and food
assistance. Staff also provide advice and emotional support.
