Web
Design
For
their first week or two, students learn a variety of industry-standard
software to design pages for the web. (Adobe PageMill and Photoshop,
Macromedia Dreamweaver, Flash and Fireworks).
Students
are taught basic principles of web design and how to organize information
for the web. While producing pages, students gain foundational skills
in design. At the end of the program they: know what file format
to make a web-ready graphic, have a grasp of basic web design skills,
and knowledge of web applications; know what program to select to
design pages, and have a grasp of image manipulation/optimization
programs.
AMP
is connected with a few local
non-profits who will benefit from our kids designing
their web sites. Our students take a few field trips to visit
people and places where they can see professionals doing web
design as a career.
