“BIDS for KIDS” is a Tremendous Success!

Best event in the 25 year history of the Bresee Foundation

Our 25th Anniversary celebration “Bids for Kids” was an extraordinary success!  This year’s honorees included hockey legend Luc Robitaille and his wife Stacia, President of the Los Angeles City Council Eric Garcetti and the newly appointed Director of Gang-Reduction and Youth Development Programs for the city of Los Angeles and former Executive Director of the Bresee Foundation, Jeff Carr.

Thanks to our sponsors, contributors, donors and attendee’s “Bids for Kids” 2007 will shine in our hearts forever and be remembered as the largest and most successful event in the 25 year history of the Bresee Foundation!   Together we raised more funds than ever before to help the break the chains of poverty for thousands of youth in our beloved city of Los Angeles.  We gratefully acknowledge our major sponsors;  AEG, Majestic Realty Foundation, Wells Fargo Bank, QueensCare Family Clinics, Marcus & Millichap and Sempra Energy.  

This gala event was marked by some spectacular highlights including a video address by Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, in which he recognized his great friends Jeff Carr and Eric Garcetti as well as the tremendous work of the Bresee Foundation, silent and live auctions as well as the sweet sounds of sax musician Lonel. 

Bidders had to stay on their toes to win the exciting live auction items including a week in Hawaii, a $500 bill and a very special evening with the Robitailles that offered dinner for four at the Staples Center hosted by Stacia and Luc Robitialle during a hockey game and four jerseys autographed by Luc.   As the bidding rose to a fever pitch for “Dinner with the Robitialle’s” Luc stunned the crowd by offering up a second dinner package!  The final bids - $2,000 each!  Thank you Luc and Stacia!
